Janne Lindqvist

Janne Lindqvist is an Associate Professor and Department Head at the Department of Computer Science, Aalto University. His research focuses on human-computer interaction, privacy engineering, usable security and privacy, as well as system security. Previously, he was a tenured Associate Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University, where he led significant research projects on cybersecurity and user studies. He holds a PhD and MSc from Helsinki University of Technology and conducted postdoctoral research at Carnegie Mellon University. Lindqvist’s research is notable for its technical innovation and emphasis on societal impact, such as improving user experience to enhance video streaming quality. His work has received numerous international recognitions, including the Mozilla Research Award.
