Simret Araya Gebreegziabher

Simret Araya Gebreegziabher is a researcher specializing in human-AI collaboration and interactive systems design. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on human-AI system interactions, trust models, and the application and evaluation of large language models (LLM). She has published papers at several top-tier international conferences, including CHI, UIST, and ACL, exploring how cognitive theory and innovative interaction design can enhance human-AI collaboration. Simret's research aims to build interpretable and trustworthy AI systems while promoting the democratized use of technology. She was awarded the 2025 IBM PhD Fellowship to support her work on interactive learning and LLM evaluation.
