Amanda Lazar

Amanda Lazar is an Associate Professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland and the director of the Health, Aging, and Technology Lab (THAT Lab). Her research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Health Informatics, particularly in designing technology for older adults and individuals with cognitive impairments. Her work is aimed at challenging stereotypes and biases about older adults through the creation of technologies that reflect diversity and inclusion. Her research has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research, and has been featured in The New Yorker, Wired, and The New York Times.
