Bryan Semaan

Bryan Semaan is the Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in building resilience among populations in challenging environments. His research scope includes examining racism and stereotypes, LGBTQ+ identity, and the sociocultural integration of refugees. His work employs a socio-technical approach, integrating human-computer interaction, social computing, and computer-supported cooperative work, aiming to design equitable, just, and inclusive socio-technical systems to improve the quality of life for marginalized communities. Bryan holds a PhD in Information and Computer Sciences from the University of California Irvine and was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Hawaii.
