Clara Crivellaro

Clara Crivellaro is an Associate Professor in Digital Social Justice at Open Lab, School of Computing, Newcastle University. She specializes in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), digital citizenship, participatory design, and co-creation. Her research focuses on exploring how the careful design of emerging technologies and socio-technical processes can support democratic practices and promote equity and social justice in digital society. Clara has served as Principal or Co-Investigator on several significant research projects, such as the EPSRC Centre for Digital Citizens and the Not-Equal Network for Social Justice in the Digital Economy. Before her academic career, she worked in socially engaged art practices in the UK and Europe. Her research has frequently received ACM Best Paper Awards and Honorable Mentions, significantly influencing future developments in computing research.
