Joon Sung Park

Joon Sung Park is a computer scientist specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and Social Computing. He is currently the Co-founder and CEO of Simile. His research pioneered the field of "generative agents," intelligent agents based on large language models capable of simulating human behavior. These agents are widely used in social prototyping, AI data studies, and social computing. His work has been featured in leading outlets such as The New York Times, Science, and Nature, and has received prestigious awards including Best Paper Awards at UIST and CHI, the Microsoft Research Fellowship, and the Siebel Scholarship. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Swarthmore College, later completing a Master's at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and ultimately a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
