Koji Yatani

Koji Yatani is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Systems at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, where he leads the "Interactive Intelligent Systems Laboratory" (IIS Lab). His research areas include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Ubiquitous Computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, Digital Health, and Usable Security. His goal is to design interactive systems with cutting-edge information technologies to enhance users' well-being and cognitive abilities. He has received several prestigious awards, including ACM Distinguished Member (2022), the RIEC Award (2019), and the Funai Academic Award (2021). Prof. Yatani is also actively involved in international academic services, serving as the Technical Program Chair for CHI 2025 and as a member of various academic committees for international conferences.
