Fanny Chevalier

Fanny Chevalier is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto, and an academic member of the Vector Institute in Canada. Her research broadly spans human-computer interaction and information visualization, focusing on developing innovative interactive tools that support visual analysis and creative activities. She has extensive experience in the design and implementation of visual interactions for complex data, the perception and design of animated transitions, visualization education, and sketch-based interfaces. Fanny Chevalier has published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers in top-tier conferences such as IEEE VIS, ACM CHI, and ACM UIST, earning 20 Best Paper and Honorable Mention awards. In 2023, she was honored with the title of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms by the French Government for her outstanding contributions to education and culture.
