Marie Louise Juul Søndergaard

Marie Louise Juul Søndergaard is an interaction designer and researcher specializing in feminist design and intimate technology. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. Her research focuses on sensitive and taboo topics such as menstruation and sexual health, exploring the intersections between technology, gender, politics, culture, and ecology through feminist technology theories and speculative design methods. She was formerly a postdoctoral researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and earned her PhD in Interaction Design from Aarhus University, Denmark, in 2018. Her work spans research-driven design, speculative design, and design fictions, with publications in top-tier HCI and design conferences. Marie Louise has also showcased her design works in international design exhibitions and magazines. She is a co-founder of the Speculative Futures Stockholm chapter and was named a "Global Young Scientist" by KTH in 2021.
