Mor Naaman

Mor Naaman is the Don and Mibs Follett Professor of Information Science at Cornell Tech, where he also serves as the Vice Dean for Faculty Affairs. He is a renowned scholar in information science, with research focusing on the intersection of technology, media, and democracy, particularly the societal effects of AI-mediated communication. Naaman leads a multidisciplinary research team employing approaches such as machine learning and qualitative social sciences to study information ecosystems and their challenges. Previously, he was a professor at Rutgers University and led a research team at Yahoo! Research Berkeley. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University and was a former professional basketball player for Hapoel Tel Aviv. Additionally, Naaman is the co-founder of a startup and an advisor to multiple early-stage companies in the social computing domain. He has received the NSF CAREER Award and several Best Paper Awards, along with research funding from Microsoft, Meta, and Google. Recently, he was recognized as an ACM Distinguished Member for his outstanding contributions to the field of technology and its impact on human communication.
