Marion Koelle

Marion Koelle is a creative technology researcher and professor specializing in human-computer interaction, currently affiliated with the Design, Computer Science, and Media department at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Her research focuses on wearable technologies, embedded systems, digital fabrication, and artificial intelligence, dedicated to developing innovative technologies and engaging diverse audiences through co-design. She earned her PhD in 2019 from the University of Oldenburg with the highest honors (summa cum laude) and previously led the Personal Pervasive Computing Group at the OFFIS Institute for IT. She is the recipient of the 2020 Helene Lange Prize, the 2021 UGO Dissertation Award, and the 2024 Digital Female Leader Award (Digital Transformation category). Marion enjoys 3D printing, hardware prototyping, and sketching, and has an affinity for quality cappuccinos.
