Bernd Ploderer

Bernd Ploderer is an Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and the head of the Digital Wellbeing Lab. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and the use of digital technologies in health and wellbeing. He is dedicated to researching, designing, and evaluating interactive technologies to help individuals better understand data about themselves and the world around them. His work spans generative AI, self-tracking technologies, intergenerational interactions, and healthcare. His research team and projects have received funding from multiple competitive Australian grants and resulted in numerous influential academic publications. Additionally, he actively engages in teaching, delivering human-centered design courses and developing innovative teaching methods.
