Ferran Altarriba Bertran

Ferran Altarriba Bertran is a researcher and designer specializing in interaction design and human-computer interaction. He is currently a lecturer at Universitat de Girona's Escola Universitària ERAM in Catalonia, where he leads a research lab called the “Playful Living Lab,” focusing on the design space of gamified technologies and experiences. He is also a postdoctoral researcher in the Gamification Group at Tampere University. Ferran's research interests include game theory and design, interactive media, human-computer interaction, food design, and smart city innovations. His work has been published in top international academic conferences and journals, earning multiple accolades including the La Caixa Fellowship and CHI Honorable Mention Award. He holds a Ph.D. in Computational Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees from multiple international institutions. Additionally, he has collaborated with renowned organizations such as Google and El Celler de Can Roca to drive innovation in technology and design.
