Juho Hamari

Juho Hamari is a Professor of Gamification at the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at Tampere University, Finland, and serves as Vice Dean for Research. He is an internationally recognized leader in gamification research, with his Gamification Group making significant academic and societal contributions in gamification, game-based learning, motivational systems, and virtual reality. His interdisciplinary research spans human-computer interaction, media studies, information systems science, applied psychology, and education. Professor Hamari has published more than 320 peer-reviewed international articles, with his academic impact ranking first in Finland and among the top globally. His research contributions have been acknowledged with several international awards, and his works are extensively cited and covered in media.
