Chee Siang Ang

Chee Siang (Jim) Ang is a Professor of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the School of Computing, University of Kent, and also serves at the Kent and Medway Medical School. He is the Deputy Director of the Institute for Cultural and Creative Industries. His research is focused on the field of HCI, particularly on designing and applying digital health technologies. His areas of expertise include the development and application of virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, designing intelligent sensing technologies, and integrating machine learning into health technology solutions. His work involves interdisciplinary collaboration with psychologists and engineers, aiming to apply games and immersive technologies in healthcare, such as training for anxiety disorders, treatment for eating disorders, pain management, and emotion detection.
