Kenji Suzuki

Dr. Kenji Suzuki is a professor at the College of Engineering, Systems, and Information, University of Tsukuba, and the lead researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He received his Bachelor's degree in Physics as well as his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Applied Physics from Waseda University. Since joining the University of Tsukuba in 2005, Dr. Suzuki has also served as the Director of the Network Research Center and as a core member of the AI Research Center at the university. His research interests include artificial intelligence, wearable robotics, affective computing, social robots, and assistive robots, with a focus on developing solutions through machine learning, pattern classification, and dynamic modeling to empower children with special needs, the elderly, and people with disabilities. He leads several major research projects, including JST PRESTO and CREST, and has published over 200 academic papers. Dr. Suzuki is a Senior Member of IEEE and actively participates in multiple subcommittees of the Tsukuba Smart City initiative.
