Alanson P. Sample

Alanson P. Sample joined the University of Michigan in 2018 and is an Associate Professor in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering. He leads the Interactive Sensing and Computing Lab. His research interests include human-computer interaction, cyber-physical systems, wireless technology, and embedded systems; the lab also works across electromagnetics, sensing, wireless communication, and machine learning. Before joining Michigan, he was Executive Lab Director at Disney Research Los Angeles and previously a Principal Research Scientist leading the Wireless Systems Group at Disney Research Pittsburgh. Earlier, he was a Research Scientist at Intel Labs in Hillsboro and a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Washington’s Computer Science & Engineering department.
