Roberta L. Klatzky

Roberta L. Klatzky is the Charles J. Queenan, Jr. University Professor of Psychology and Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. She is also on the faculty of the Human-Computer Interaction Institute and the Carnegie Mellon Neuroscience Institute. Her research examines perception, spatial thinking, and action across sensory and symbolic modalities in real and virtual environments, with particular interests in spatial perception, haptic perception, and perceptually guided action. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and IEEE; she is also an honorary member of the Society of Experimental Psychologists. Her honors include the Alexander von Humboldt Research Award, the Kurt Koffka Medal from Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen, and the Association for Psychological Science James McKeen Cattell Fellow Award.
