Shengdong Zhao

Professor Shengdong Zhao is a full professor at the School of Creative Media and the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong. He was previously a tenured associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the National University of Singapore and earned his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly the development of Heads-up Computing and Smart Wearable Devices. He established the Synteraction Lab (formerly NUS-HCI Lab) and has published extensively in prestigious HCI conferences and journals, such as ToCHI, CHI, and UbiComp. He is passionate about integrating academic research with industry practice and served as a senior advisor for Huawei Consumer Business Group. Among his research accomplishments is the "Draco" tool, which was awarded the 2016 "Best iPad App Award." Professor Zhao is actively involved in HCI conference committees and served as Papers Co-Chair for ACM SIGCHI in 2019 and 2020.
