Andrea Forte

Dr. Andrea Forte currently serves as the Dean of the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI) and is a leading figure in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction and Information Science. With a robust interdisciplinary background, she has made significant achievements in designing technologies that support collaboration, learning, and privacy. Dr. Forte's research areas span Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Social Computing, and Online Privacy, with her work being recognized across multiple academic domains. As a Ph.D. graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, her scholarly efforts have been funded by numerous organizations, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), where she has received the prestigious NSF CAREER Award. She previously served as the Chair of the Department of Information Science at Drexel University and has held key positions on various academic committees. Additionally, she is a Distinguished Member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), recognized for her exceptional contributions to the computing field.
