Gianluca Stringhini

Gianluca Stringhini is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University, with joint appointments in the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences. His research focuses on cybersecurity, particularly using data-driven methods to study and mitigate malicious activities on the Internet, such as malware, online fraud, influence operations, and online harassment. His work has been widely recognized, including receiving multiple awards such as the 2020 NSF CAREER Award, and he has published more than 100 papers at top security and social computing conferences. Prior to joining Boston University, he was an Associate Professor at University College London and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2014. His research has been supported by organizations such as NSF, Google, and OpenAI.
