Jason Alexander

Jason Alexander is a Professor of Human-Computer Interaction in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Bath. He is also Head of the university’s Human-Computer Interaction group and Co-Director of the Research Centre for Spatial Intelligence. His primary research develops novel interactive systems that reconnect digital content with the physical world. Recent work includes haptic interfaces and displays supporting force input and force output, shape-changing interfaces, data physicalization, and human-robot interaction. He has also investigated interaction techniques using eye gaze, haptic feedback, and gestures. The University of Bath research portal currently lists him as accepting doctoral students.

Previously, he was a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster University and a postdoctoral researcher in the Bristol Interaction and Graphics (BIG) group at the University of Bristol. Earlier, he was a PhD student in the HCI and Multimedia Lab at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
