Giulia Barbareschi

Dr. Giulia Barbareschi specializes in the fields of accessible design and assistive technology and is an accomplished researcher with extensive academic and practical experience. She is currently a Senior Assistant Professor at Keio University Graduate School of Media Design and an Honorary Lecturer at the University College London (UCL) Global Disability Innovation Hub. She graduated in Physiotherapy from the University of Genoa in Italy, acquired a qualification in Medical Device Science at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and earned her PhD in Disability and Assistive Technology at University College London. Her research interests focus on designing, developing, and evaluating innovative technologies that empower people with disabilities and other marginalized communities. Her work spans academia, startups, non-governmental organizations, and United Nations agencies. She has published numerous high-quality academic papers and participated in various international research projects.
