Inseok Hwang

Inseok Hwang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology), and also a visiting professor at Yonsei University's Institute of Convergence Technology. His research focuses on mobile computing, human-computer interaction (HCI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and applied artificial intelligence (AI). In particular, he is dedicated to developing intelligent interactive mobile and IoT computing systems that seamlessly integrate with and enhance real-life human experiences. He has previously worked as a researcher at IBM Research and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). His work has been published in over 40 top-tier conferences and journals, and he holds more than 90 U.S. patents. His research has not only pioneered new directions but also received multiple international awards, including the ACM CSCW Best Paper Award and numerous Best Demo Awards.
