Jan Gugenheimer

Jan Gugenheimer is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Darmstadt University of Technology (TU Darmstadt), where he leads the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research group. His research focuses on exploring Mixed Reality (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality) technologies. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Télécom Paris, École Polytechnique in Paris, and earned his PhD in Computer Science (Human-Computer Interaction) from Ulm University. His research revolves around interaction paradigms for mobile/nomadic virtual reality, introducing and extensively investigating the concept of "Nomadic VR." He has conducted research at world-leading institutions, including ETH Zurich, MIT Media Lab, and Microsoft Research, and has published numerous high-impact scientific papers. Jan's innovative research in Mixed Reality and Human-Computer Interaction has significantly contributed to the advancement of technology and applications in these domains.
