Joshua Sunshine

Joshua Sunshine is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Software and Societal Systems Department (S3D) at Carnegie Mellon University, with an additional courtesy appointment at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute. His research focuses on the intersection of programming languages and software engineering, with a particular emphasis on factors affecting the usability of reusable software components. Joshua Sunshine earned his PhD in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013, where his doctoral work explored the usability of API protocols with sequential constraints. He also serves as the director of the interdisciplinary Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Software Engineering (REUSE) program, providing undergraduate students nationwide with opportunities to collaborate with leading computer scientists.
