Oliver Schneider

Oliver Schneider is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Sciences at the University of Waterloo and the director of the Haptic Computing Lab. His research focuses on human-computer interaction and haptics, particularly in the area of haptic computing. He is passionate about developing computational tools to enable the large-scale creation, deployment, and study of haptic feedback, with the goal of advancing the adoption and commercialization of haptics technology. His long-term vision is to build a comprehensive set of haptic computing tools to support interaction with computers, robots, and other machines. Oliver has collaborated with Disney Research to develop novel haptic interaction techniques and conducted postdoctoral research at the Hasso Plattner Institute. His research has been widely published in leading academic conferences and journals such as CHI, UIST, and IEEE Haptics.
