Eugenia Ha Rim Rho

Dr. Eugenia Ha Rim Rho is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech and a core member of the Sanghani Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics. Her research focuses on the intersection of human-computer interaction, social computing, and AI and society, with particular attention to designing online environments that foster democratic dialogues and social interactions. Her research employs both quantitative and qualitative methods, including machine learning, statistical analysis, interviews, and behavioral experiments, to explore the applications of language models in fields such as health and education, as well as issues related to online privacy and social computing. Eugenia earned her Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine, and her B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University. She was previously a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford University.
