Dave Murray-Rust

Dave Murray-Rust is an Associate Professor of Human-Computer Interaction Design at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft (Delft University of Technology) and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh. He specializes in examining the complex relationships between humans and algorithms, data, and technology, combining design and critical thinking to explore how to create a future that is friendly to both humans and artificial intelligence. His research spans interdisciplinary areas such as computer science, design theory, design ethnography, and digital sociology. He is particularly interested in applying algorithms and machine learning techniques to understand and support human behavior and design insights, as well as developing data-driven systems that improve AI’s social functionalities. Additionally, he has been active in the field of interactive art, producing several works that have been exhibited internationally.
