Gillian R Hayes

Gillian R. Hayes is Chancellor’s Professor and Robert A. and Barbara L. Kleist Professor of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine, where she also serves as Vice Provost for Academic Personnel. She is based in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, with additional appointments in the Schools of Education, Medicine, and Social Ecology. Her research spans human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, assistive and educational technologies, and health informatics. She designs, develops, deploys, and evaluates technologies that help people use data to address real needs in sensitive and ethically responsible ways. Her community-based work includes autism, asthma, child health, and cancer care (UCI ICS faculty page). She co-directs the CERES global research network with Candice Odgers and is a Jacobs Foundation Senior Research Fellow alumna.
