Steve Oney

Steve Oney is an Associate Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan and a courtesy Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. His research focuses on human-computer interaction (HCI), programming tools, collaboration and learning in data science, and improving the accessibility of programming tools for underrepresented groups, such as people with visual impairments. He is dedicated to creating innovative programming environments and tools to enhance user experiences, support education, and foster collaboration. He earned his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and holds degrees in computer science and mathematics from MIT. His research has been published in top-tier conferences and has received multiple academic awards.
