Michelle A. Borkin

Michelle Borkin is an Associate Professor at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, specializing in data visualization research. Her work spans data visualization, human-computer interaction, astrophysics, and medical imaging. After earning her PhD in Applied Physics from Harvard University, Borkin received the inaugural "IEEE VGTC Rising Star Award" for her innovative contributions to visualization memorability, evaluation methodologies, and their applications in astronomy and medicine. Her research has significantly impacted data science education, science communication, and the development of clinical decision support systems. Additionally, she is the visualization lead for the multidimensional data analysis tool Glue, widely utilized in astronomical research.
