Uzma Haque Syeda

Uzma Haque Syeda is a researcher specializing in the fields of data visualization and human-computer interaction (HCI). She is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences. Her research interests include design research, replication studies, and the social good applications of data visualization, with a particular focus on user experience research and participatory design methods. Her work not only provides methodological insights into bridging visualization pedagogy with research but also advances rigor and reproducibility in academic and educational domains. As an experienced educator, she has guided over 200 students in completing more than 100 design projects, transforming real-world needs into impactful visualization solutions. Furthermore, she is dedicated to integrating data visualization into community practices, offering data-driven support to nonprofit organizations and local communities.
