Yolande Strengers

Yolande Strengers is a Professor specializing in digital technologies and society, currently working at the Emerging Technologies Research Lab at Monash University. She is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow and serves as the Research Director at Monash Energy Institute. Her research focuses on digital sociology, human-computer interaction (HCI) design, science and technology studies, and human geography, especially exploring the connection between emerging technologies and sustainability, energy consumption, gender, and inclusivity. Yolande has led several key projects, including research on "adorable" domestic robots and their relationships with humans, as well as scenarios for energy lifestyles in 2030. She has published extensively in leading social science and HCI design journals and has headed multiple interdisciplinary research projects. Her notable works include the books The Smart Wife and Smart Energy Technologies in Everyday Life.
