Guo Freeman

Guo Freeman is the Associate Dean and Associate Professor in the School of Computing at Clemson University within the Human-Computer Interaction division. Her research focuses on how interactive technologies shape interpersonal relationships and group behavior, spanning areas such as multiplayer online games, esports, live streaming, artificial intelligence, and social virtual reality. Her work combines robust theoretical grounding, meticulous empirical research, and participatory technology design, aiming to create more supportive and fulfilling user experiences. Professor Freeman has published more than 130 peer-reviewed papers and received 15 Best Paper Awards. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army, and the Air Force Research Offices. An active member of the ACM SIGCHI community, she has held numerous leadership roles in premier conferences like CSCW and CHI, and leads the Gaming and Media Experience Lab at Clemson University.
