John Vines

John Vines is a professor specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and Interaction Design. He currently serves as the Chair in Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics and is a Co-Director of the Design Informatics Research Centre. His research focuses on participatory design and design research, aiming to empower individuals and communities to take control of significant aspects of their lives through the design of technology. His areas of interest span aging and technology, individual and community health, financial inclusion, and civic engagement, with a strong emphasis on leveraging technology for social good.
