Yixin Zou

Yixin Zou is a tenured faculty member at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP) and a principal investigator at the Cluster of Excellence CASA at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. She earned her PhD in Information Science at the University of Michigan and leads the “Human-Centered Security and Privacy” research group. Her work focuses on improving the security and equity of computing technologies through qualitative, quantitative, design, and measurement research, with a particular focus on supporting marginalized and underserved communities. Yixin has received numerous academic awards, including the ACM SIGCHI Outstanding Dissertation Award and the Google Faculty Research Award. Her research spans user privacy, data security, and user experience design.
