Tamara “Tammy” Clegg is a Professor in the University of Maryland’s College of Information and holds an affiliate appointment in the Department of Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership in the College of Education. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2010 and her B.S. in Computer Science from North Carolina State University in 2002. Her research combines community-based technology, STEM learning, and participatory design to help young people connect science and data practices with their everyday lives, cultures, and communities. Her recent work emphasizes critical data literacy in resource-constrained and minoritized communities.
