In this paper, we present M-Hair, a novel method for providing tactile feedback by stimulating only the body hair without touching the skin. It works by applying passive magnetic materials to the body hair, making it responsive to external magnetic forces/fields. We investigated the feasibility of actuating such augmented hair with external magnetic fields. We conducted a user study to understand the key characteristics and limitations in the perception of dynamic shape display on the hair, as well as demonstrated the applicability of this novel feedback in enhancing VR experience.
