Hyungjun Cho

Hyungjun Cho is an assistant professor at the School of Art and Art History, University of Florida, specializing in research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and design. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Design from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he also earned his bachelor's and master's degrees. Hyungjun's research emphasizes understanding the impact of artificial intelligence on human experience, considering AI not merely as a tool or technical infrastructure but also as a social entity that transforms daily life and broader socio-cultural systems. Through designing artifacts, he speculates on the possibilities of future technologies and fosters critical discussions about emerging technologies. His work aims to provide a designer’s perspective on reflecting technological advancements, turning these reflections into tangible design outcomes, and facilitating meaningful interdisciplinary dialogues to explore trajectories of technological progress.
