Wanling Cai

Wanling Cai is a researcher specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). She is currently an Ad Astra Fellow and Assistant Professor at University College Dublin, focusing on Human-AI Collaboration. Her research spans artificial intelligence, health, and well-being, aiming to design responsible AI technologies that help people lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. She adopts a human-centered approach to explore, design, and evaluate interactive AI systems, such as recommender systems, conversational agents, generative AI, and wearable devices, to support daily decision-making and mental health-related scenarios. Her research integrates interdisciplinary fields, including computing and information science, design, psychology, and cognitive science.
