Caroline Claisse

Caroline Claisse is a Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction and Interactive Design at Newcastle University's Open Lab, focusing on exploring how digital technologies can improve health and community well-being through design research. She employs co-creation and design-led research methodologies to develop technologies that support self-care and health management, while conducting research into multisensory interactions that facilitate spiritual and community practices. Her work is influenced by feminism, social justice, and posthumanist perspectives, critically examining the societal impact of data-driven technologies. Caroline holds a design background from the University of the Arts London and the Royal College of Art and completed a practice-led PhD at Sheffield Hallam University on the potential of interactive technologies in cultural heritage. Prior to academia, she led several arts projects and designed interactive exhibitions for cultural organizations, including the UK's National Trust and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
