Kimi Wenzel

Kimi Wenzel is a Ph.D. candidate at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in AI design, ethics, and the needs of marginalized users. Her research focuses on the potential harms of AI technologies and designing interventions to mitigate psychological harm while promoting equity and inclusivity. Her work examines how users, designers, and developers understand and address automation biases and create proactive interventions throughout the product development lifecycle. Kimi has published her research at multiple top-tier academic conferences and received the CHI Best Paper Award. Additionally, she has a strong interest in equity in STEM education, promoting women’s participation in computing, and moral psychology.
