Ali Sarvghad

Dr. Ali Sarvghad is a Research Assistant Professor at the College of Information and Computer Sciences, University of Massachusetts Amherst. His work focuses on data visualization and human-computer interaction, investigating how design and technology can bridge human factors with analytics. His research spans multiple areas, including visual analytics, information visualization, interaction design, and socio-technical issues, aiming to develop innovative tools and mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness, inclusivity, and trustworthiness of data analysis. His contributions have theoretical significance and practical impact on the development of tools and interventions. Ali's academic papers have received Best Paper Awards and Honorable Mentions at top conferences in visualization, social computing, and human-computer interaction. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Victoria, a Master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Malaya, and an Honours Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
