Rene Just

René Just is an Associate Professor in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. His research spans software engineering, software security, and data science, with a focus on static and dynamic program analysis, developer productivity, as well as applied statistics and machine learning. He is the recipient of an NSF CAREER Award and two prestigious 10-year Most Influential Paper awards. His research has frequently earned Distinguished Paper Awards and honorable mentions. He has developed research and educational infrastructures widely adopted by researchers and educators, such as Defects4J and the Major mutation testing framework. His work aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of software testing while mentoring the next generation of software engineering researchers.
