Amy Rechkemmer

Amy Rechkemmer is a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University, advised by Dr. Ming Yin. Her research interests include human-computer interaction, crowdsourcing, social computing, and human-AI interaction. Her doctoral research focuses on understanding the challenges faced by various groups of data workers and designing interventions and systems to alleviate these challenges. Her work has received Best Paper Awards at premier conferences such as AAAI HCOMP and ACM CHI. Additionally, she investigates factors in machine learning models that influence trust in their decisions and analyzes how language use on social media changes with population scale. Amy graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering, where she also conducted research in engineering design education.
