Shruti Mahajan

Shruti Mahajan is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Union College, specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) research. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2024, focusing on inclusive technology design and the development of resources related to American Sign Language (ASL). Her research work has been published and recognized at premier HCI conferences such as CHI and ASSETS. In addition to her academic research, Shruti is passionate about mentoring students and participating in activities that promote inclusivity and diversity in computing fields. Her research emphasizes the societal impact of technology, particularly how user-centered design can empower underrepresented groups in technology engagement.
