Ravi Chugh

Ravi Chugh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. Since joining the university in 2014, he has focused on research in programming languages and human-computer interaction, with an emphasis on developing Direct Manipulation Programming Systems. His goal is to create more user-friendly development environments by merging the expressiveness of programming with the interactivity of graphical user interfaces. He is the recipient of the NSF CAREER award in 2017 and the Neubauer Teaching Fellowship in 2015. His research spans functional programming, program synthesis, type systems, as well as the theory and practice of programming languages. He is also committed to making programming more accessible and easier to learn through interactive programming tools and techniques.
