Prerna Juneja

Prerna Juneja is a scholar and Assistant Professor in Computer Science with a specialization in online misinformation. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Washington Information School, working in areas such as Responsible AI, Social Computing, and Human-Computer Interaction. Her research focuses on understanding how algorithms facilitate the spread of misinformation and building human-centric defense mechanisms. Notable projects include the development of the YouCred tool in collaboration with Africa-based fact-checking organization PesaCheck, aimed at identifying misinformation on YouTube. Additionally, she is part of OpenAI's Red Teaming Network, contributing to risk assessment for AI systems.
