Finale Doshi-Velez

Finale Doshi-Velez is the Herchel Smith Professor of Computer Science at Harvard University's Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Her research interests include reinforcement learning, interpretability, and probabilistic methods, aimed at enhancing human and artificial intelligence in discovery and decision-making processes. She earned her PhD at MIT, focusing on Bayesian nonparametric statistics, and completed her master's degree at the University of Cambridge. Doshi-Velez's research is widely applied in healthcare, including disease diagnosis using big data, personalized medicine, and developing interpretable AI models. She is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Sloan Research Fellowship, AFOSR Young Investigator Award, and IEEE AI Top Ten to Watch.
